Websites for Louisiana nurseries and garden centers
Vexil Studio builds websites for nurseries and garden centers in Louisiana. The site is built around the two things customers call about, which are what you have in stock and when you are open.
You describe the business by email and get a fixed price back. No meetings, no hourly billing.
What a nursery website actually has to do
A nursery has a harder website problem than most retail, because the inventory turns over every week and the calendar drives everything.
What is in stock this week
It is the phone call you get most and the one a website can actually stop. It does not need a full store system, just a page you can update in a few minutes when a truck arrives.
A planting calendar
What to put in the ground and when, for your growing zone. It is the rare piece of content that brings people back to a retail website all year rather than only when they need something.
Seasonal hours that stay right
Nursery hours change more often than almost any other business, and spring hours are the ones people get caught out by. They need to be somewhere you can edit them in a minute.
Whether you deliver, and how far
It is the second question after do you have it. Answering it on the page, with the towns you actually reach, saves the call and turns up in local searches at the same time.
A finished example you can open
Verbena & Vine is a plant nursery in Covington. It is a complete, working site — not a picture of one. Open it, use it, look at it on your phone.
Open Verbena & Vine See all fourteen styles
Verbena & Vine is an invented business, built to demonstrate the style. It is not a client.
Two that are real
The demos are invented. These two are live and serving actual visitors right now.
Redstick Strategies
A live business site, built and deployed.
The Adventurist’s Log
A content site running at real scale with its own tools.
What every build includes
These are not upgrades. They are in every demo above — open one on your phone and check.
Works on a phone
Designed for the small screen first, because that is where nearly everyone will see it.
Loads fast
Hand-written pages with no page-builder bloat behind them. Nothing to slow it down.
A way to reach you
A contact form, your phone number, your hours — whatever the way in should be.
Findable
Page titles, descriptions and structure set up so search engines can read the site properly.
Usable by everyone
Real contrast, keyboard navigation, and text that scales. Some customers need it; everyone benefits.
Yours to keep
Plain files on your own domain. No platform lock-in and no monthly rent to me for hosting.
What it costs
Quoted per project, because a one-page site and a fifteen-page site with online booking are not the same job. Send the form describing what you need and you get a fixed number back by email — and if it is not a job I can do well, I will tell you that instead.
Questions
Can I update stock myself?
Yes. It can be built so a stock page is plain text you edit in a few minutes rather than a full inventory system you have to maintain. If you genuinely need a proper store with quantities and online payment, that is a bigger job and I will price it separately.
How much does a nursery website cost?
It is quoted per project. A site with your hours, a stock page and a planting calendar is a modest job. Adding online ordering and delivery scheduling is a much bigger one. Send the form and you get a fixed number back.
Would a planting calendar really get used?
It is one of the few things that gives a retail customer a reason to come back to the site in a month with nothing to buy. It also gives search engines and AI assistants something specific to your area to quote, which a page of stock photos does not.
Can you sell plants online through it?
That can be built, but it is worth being honest about whether it suits you. Shipping live plants is difficult and often not worth it, while local pickup ordering frequently is. Tell me which you are after and I will quote the one that fits.
Do I need to call you?
No. The whole thing runs by email. Describe the business, get a fixed price, decide whether to go ahead.
Do I own the site?
Yes. Plain files on your own domain with no platform lock-in and no monthly hosting rent to me.
